Shiro and Keita didn‘t manage to enter university and are stuck in their hometown delivering newspapers. Shiro persists on finishing a film they started, but Keita is not very enthusiastic. Confusion grows when Keita’s ex-girlfriend Kyoko is about to visit. This poetic and disturbing coming-of-age drama is Sion SONO’s second feature film.

About Sion SONO
園子温

Sion SONO was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1961. Having experimented with 8mm film during his studies at Hosei University, he won the Grand Prize at the 1987 PIA Film Festival for his film A MAN’S FLOWER ROAD. His international rise to fame came with LOVE EXPOSURE (2008 / NC ’09). Since then, he has won numerous awards. THE WHISPERING STAR (2015 / NC ’16 and NC ’20) won the NETPAC Award at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. Nippon Connection dedicated a retrospective to his work in 2011.
