Cooking Course: Vegan Sushi

Sushi without fish, is that possible? “Of course it is,” says Hiroko TAKAHASHI, hobby chef and Nippon Connection team member. Vegan sushi is tasty and healthy and is becoming increasingly popular with fans of Japanese cuisine. You can easily conjure up futomaki from rice, seaweed, salad, and vegetables!

The workshop takes place online via Zoom.

Required ingredients (for 3 persons):
• 500g rice (milk or sushi rice)
• 100 ml white balsamic vinegar
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 6 nori seaweed leaves
• 1 cucumber
• 1 avocado
• 1 carrot
• 1/3 white radish or some small garden radishes
• soy sauce
• wasabi (from the tube)

optionally in addition:
• 2 leaves of Chinese cabbage
• 25g of rocket
• 1 celery stalk

Cooking utensils:
Bamboo mat to roll the sushi
Big pot
Large flat spoon
