Nippon Animation   ³

Starting with the “record talkies” in the 1930s, when silent animation shorts were paired with songs on record, animation and music have been a natural artistic pairing. This selection of recent works by independent Japanese animators, curated by Dr. Catherine Munroe Hotes, ranges from works where music is featured thematically to commissioned music videos.
