Unloved

Nippon Cinema   ª

Mitsuko is a young, reserved and very pragmatic thinking woman who knows exactly what she wants. As long as she herself can stand by what she does, she doesn't care about the opinions of others. She appears simply dressed and is not impressed by money and compliments. The businessman Eiji is so fascinated by Mitsuko's manner that he wants to get to know her better. She agrees, but when Eiji starts to put her in sinfully expensive designer clothes and take her to posh restaurants, she distances herself from him. She feels more attracted to her new neighbor Hiroshi, who works as a parcel driver, plays guitar and otherwise just lives for the day. Soon the two are a couple, but Hiroshi doesn't let go of the question why Mitsuko rejected the life in luxury with Eiji. He decides to visit Eiji to find out his own position...
